Animecoin (ANIME), a community-backed token inspired by the global anime phenomenon, is gearing up for its much-anticipated debut on major cryptocurrency exchanges. The token will be officially listed on Binance starting January 23, 2025, at 14:00 UTC, with trading pairs available alongside USDT, USDC, BNB, FDUSD, and TRY. As part of the launch, Binance is also offering an airdrop of 500 million ANIME tokens to BNB holders who subscribed to the BNB Simple Earn products between January 17 and January 20.
In a bid to build momentum for Animecoin’s entry into the market, Binance will distribute approximately 5% of the total token supply to eligible participants in the airdrop. This airdrop is aimed at rewarding early supporters and increasing the token's exposure in the crypto community. However, due to the newness of ANIME as a launched token, Binance will be tagging it with the “seed” label, a common practice for newly issued tokens.
The distribution of ANIME tokens will not be exclusive to Binance; the token will also be listed on Bybit and OKX on the same day. The simultaneous listings on multiple exchanges signify Animecoin’s intention to quickly gain traction within the broader crypto market and expand its reach to a larger audience.
Animecoin, or ANIME, is the native token of the Animecoin Foundation, a community-driven initiative supported by the Arbitrum Foundation and the renowned NFT brand Azuki. Animecoin has been described as the “culture coin of the anime industry,” reflecting its mission to fuse the world of anime with blockchain technology.
The Animecoin ecosystem aims to empower the anime community by providing a collaborative platform for content creation and distribution. By combining original intellectual property (IP), mainstream distribution channels, and blockchain-powered infrastructure, Animecoin seeks to give the anime fandom greater influence over the content they love and help it grow organically. As outlined by the community in a recent X post, the Animecoin ecosystem will drive engagement across the blockchain-powered anime network, starting with the Azuki IP, which will serve as the first of many anime IPs involved in this initiative.
Animecoin is set to launch on Ethereum and Arbitrum, where 50.5% of the total ANIME tokens will be allocated to the community. Another 20% will go to the team, advisors, and the company itself. The broader vision for Animecoin includes the launch of Animechain, a Web3 network dedicated to anime-related content, which is scheduled to go live in the first quarter of 2025.

The Animecoin ecosystem is designed to bring together anime content from both original IPs and third-party creators. It will include a variety of assets, such as games, merchandise, and NFTs, allowing anime fans to interact with their favorite franchises in new and innovative ways. The ANIME token will serve multiple roles within the ecosystem, including as a gas and governance token for Animechain, allowing users to participate in decision-making and further empower the community.
Animecoin’s total supply is capped at 10 billion ANIME tokens, with an initial circulating supply of 7.69 billion ANIME. This large supply ensures that the community can benefit from widespread token distribution while also leaving room for long-term growth and value appreciation.
The introduction of Animecoin on major exchanges like Binance, Bybit, and OKX, coupled with its unique positioning in the rapidly expanding anime and NFT spaces, provides strong potential for future adoption. As the platform continues to evolve and the Animechain network goes live, ANIME could play a pivotal role in bridging the worlds of anime fandom and decentralized technology.
In conclusion, Animecoin's listing and airdrop represent a significant moment for both the crypto and anime communities. With its strong backing and ambitious goals, Animecoin aims to be a key player in the future of blockchain-powered entertainment, empowering fans and creators alike.
