DOGS meme coin helps NGO save homeless strays

Joining with Best Friends Animal Society, the widely used Telegram meme coin DOGS aims to increase donations to animal shelters and rally the crypto community behind animal welfare initiatives.

In a joint news statement, DOGS Dogs 3.27 per cent of Dogs and the Utah-based nonprofit committed to working together to promote the No-Kill by 2025 Pledge, an initiative to ensure that shelters preserve at least 90% of the animals who come through their doors.

Shelters throughout the United States will be able to secure the protection of animals by 2025 thanks to the money that the TON-based meme coin will give them over the following year, allowing them to achieve the no-kill rate. With 3.97 million of the 4.76 million cats and dogs housed in shelters in the United States being saved, the saving rate reached 83% in 2023.

With a generous donation of $150,000, the $DOGS Community is making it possible for creatures like Rusty, who has been waiting patiently in our refuge in Kanab, Utah, to be adopted into loving families," announced the Best Friends Animal Society in a social media post.

This arrangement also makes DOGS mascot Spotty Best Friends Animal Society's official ambassador. Over the following year, the non-profit will use the black-and-white spotted dog in events and marketing. Telegram and VK creator Pavel Durov founded Spotty at an orphanage charity auction.

DOGS will also cover one month of care for adopted dogs and encourage the crypto community to do likewise. In conjunction with this new agreement, DOGS aims to launch a new platform to enable non-profits worldwide to acquire financing. The statement added that platform eligibility and application procedures will be announced soon.

Andrew, DOGS' founder, said the token's association with Best Friends Animal Society is a “call to action” for the crypto community to promote animal welfare, starting with the 90% no-kill goal by 2025.
DOGS has raised almost $450,000 for Save the Orphans, Save the Children, Animal Charity Evaluators, and cancer research since its August 2024 start.
